Payment
All purchases from our shop are secured by Paypal. So you can buy from us with complete confidence, knowing that your information and purchase are fully protected.
Simply select the item(s) you’d like to purchase, and they’ll be added automatically to your shopping cart.
Stock levels
Because we’re a young new enterprise with a focus on maximising the 10% of our profits we donate to urban river restoration projects, we try not to overbuy and sit on too much stock at any one time.
However, if any item is out of stock at the time you order it, we’ll do our absolute best to get it to you within 2-3 weeks, and keep you informed every step of the way. Does that sound like a deal?
Postage and shipping
If you’re anything like us, you’ll want to receive any fishing gear you’ve ordered as soon as possible. So if your purchase is in stock, we’ll send it out to you as fast as we can – ideally within a week of your order, and most likely much sooner than that. If there’s any significant delay, we’ll keep you informed by email.
For your peace of mind, and to keep postage and packaging costs to a minimum, our standard signed-for Royal Mail delivery service to UK addresses costs £4 per item or less, and aims to reach you within 2–3 days of despatch. Shipping is free for orders over £50.
If you need a faster service, or if you’re ordering from outside the UK, please contact us before placing your order and we’ll do our best to help.
Returns and exchanges
Here at Urbantrout we want you to be happy with everything you buy from us. All our gear is designed to make your fishing more enjoyable, so we’ll back that up with a 28-day no-quibble returns policy.
Simply return your purchase(s) in their original packaging to the address on the packing note, and we’ll arrange a refund or exchange if we have the right item in stock – whichever you prefer. Please use an insured or recorded delivery service if you send your purchase(s) back, as we can’t be responsible for goods lost in transit. You will also need to pay the costs of sending items back to us.
Please note that some items like baseball caps may fade and weather naturally. This feature is designed to increase their character and individuality, and shouldn’t be seen as a flaw! None of this affects your statutory rights.
Ethical and environmental policies
Urbantrout’s existence is constantly inspired by the pioneering conservation ethos of the river restoration movement, and we want all our products to fit this philosophy.
Everything we sell is as carefully sourced as possible, from suppliers subscribing to internationally certified standards of ethical, environmental, lawful and humane manufacturing. These standards include WRAP (Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production) and the FLA (Fair Labor Association).
But best of all, just so you know we’re putting your hard-earned money to good use, we promise to donate a full 10% of Urbantrout’s annual product sales profits to help fund urban river restoration projects.
We’re much smaller (for now) than the industry leaders like Orvis and Patagonia. But we’re no less passionately committed to environmental responsibility, so we want to try to match their contributions by giving a higher percentage of our profits. If you’d like your local river restoration project to be considered for a donation, please get in touch.
